Type of visas and application process
To apply for a visa, your passport must be valid for six months or more from the date of intended entry. The most common visas are the following:
Citizens of several countries are allowed to visit Hong Kong without a visa for between seven and 180 days. These include the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Spain, and the US. A full list of nationalities and visa requirements can be found from Hong Kong Immigration department
Pre-arrival Registration for Indian Nationals
The Pre-arrival Registration for Indian Nationals will be implemented on 23 January 2017. The online service for “Pre-arrival Registration for Indian Nationals” will be opened on 19 December 2016.
Travel Pass [HKSAR Travel Pass]
The aim of the Travel Pass Scheme is to enhance the mobility of business travellers by facilitating bonafide frequent visitors to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). The Travel Pass is a machine readable document with 32 pages. It is valid for 3 years and good for multiple entries to the HKSAR for a stay of 2 months each trip. The holder of a Travel Pass will be allowed to use Hong Kong resident counters and the immigration clearance procedures will be simplified.
